Good morning Ward 4, before me, before Paul Studenski, before Linda Balzotti, Brockton’s Ward 4 was well represented on the City Council by Viola Packard, who has died. A terrific lady, Viola was married to equally terrific husband Phil. She focused her efforts on helping constituents and served as the very first female Council President. Viola was kind to me, generous with helpful suggestions when I was first elected. Sadly, her son Fred died just a few days before her, which surely broke her big heart. May Viola rest in peace now.
